At the top of the Champs-Elysées, not far from the Arc de Triomphe, you'll find this legendary cafe, pharmacy, gift shop, bookstore, deli. The concept was the brainchild of founder Marcel Bleustein Blanchet after he made a trip to the USA during the late 1950s.
Today Drugstore Publicis is much the same. It's a great place for people watching on the sidewalk cafe, or late night and weekend shopping when you need a last minute bottle of champagne or a bite to eat. On the ground floor you'll find a newsstand, pharmacy, upscale deli (l'epicerie) and bookshop, while downstairs in the basement is a designer boutique offering trendy luxury items, wine and cigars. The cafe offers a good selection or American inspired plates (hamburgers, club sandwiches) alongside standard brasserie fare and an extensive cocktail menu which includes a huge array of martinis and gins. "The Drugstore" was immortalized in the 2002 movie, La Bande du Drugstore.
