Hôtel de Ville

The Paris City Hall has stood on this location since 1357. The current Rennaissance style building dates from 1628, but after being destroyed by fire in 1871 the interior was completely rebuilt in the lavish style of the late 19th century. Hôtel de Ville is a functioning City Hall and it is the office of the Mayor of Paris. A public ice skating rink stands in the square in the Winter.
