Chez Omar

A long-time favorite for North African cuisine, this unpretentious restaurant is one of the best addresses in Paris for couscous. Choose from coucous with merguez, chicken, lamb brochettes, or the kingly couscous royale (mixed meats). Although traditional French dishes are also available (e.g. steak frites) the raison d'etre of Chez Omar is couscous. The restaurant doesn't take reservations, so come early or you may find yourself enjoying a pleasant wait at the long zinc bar and if you come late, you may end up waiting in line out on the street.
